To create a stairs 3D model using Blender 2.8, follow these steps:


  • Open Blender and delete the default cube by pressing X and selecting Delete.



  • Add a plane by pressing Shift + A and selecting Mesh > Plane.



  • Scale the plane along the X axis by pressing S, X, and then typing the desired value (for example, 2).



  • Enter edit mode by pressing Tab.



  • Select the right edge of the plane by right-clicking on it.

  • Scale and position the cylinder along the side of your staircase by using the transform tools (G for grab, R for rotate, S for scale).



  • Duplicate the cylinder by pressing Shift + D and move it to the other side of your staircase.



  • Add balusters to your staircase by adding another cylinder and scaling it down to a smaller size.



  • Duplicate the baluster by pressing Shift + D and move it along the edge of your staircase.



  • Repeat step 14 until you have balusters along both sides of your staircase.



  • Add handrails to your staircase by adding a curve by pressing Shift + A and selecting Curve > Bezier.



  • Edit the curve to follow the shape of your staircase by using the edit mode (Tab) and the curve tools (V for handle type, G for grab, R for rotate).



  • Give some thickness to your curve by going to the Object Data Properties panel and increasing the value of Bevel > Depth.

Using StairDesigner software




StairDesigner is a specialized software for designing and building stairs. It has a user-friendly interface that allows you to create any type of staircase with ease.   • Export your stairs to other formats by clicking on File > Export and selecting the desired format.
